Trump has once again attacked Barack Obama in a series of late-night Truth Social posts this week, including reposting one that demands his arrest.
The US President, 79, went on the social media platform to share more than 50 posts in three hours, right before his trip to China for talks with Xi Jinping.
On the evening of 11 May and into the early morning hours of 12 May, the Republican leader directed his anger at not only Obama, but also the New York Times, Hillary Clinton, and the Supreme Court, among other targets.
The POTUS reposted calls for Obama’s arrest that had been made by other accounts, including one that described the former US President as ‘the most DEMONIC FORCE in American politics in decades’.
The world leader also shared numerous posts that falsely claim Obama and his allies stole the 2020 election from Trump and tried to rig the 2016 election.
Another post Trump reposted read: “Arrest them all. Prosecute them all. Incarcerate them all at once for treachery, treason, and seditious conspiracy to overthrow the United States Government. But first, Barack Obama.”

While a separate one read: “Arrest Obama the traitor.”
As if that wasn’t enough, he then shared an AI-generated image of Obama, Joe Biden, and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi bathing in dirty water in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, captioned “Dumacrats Love Sewage.”
And it’s not the first time Trump has targeted Obama. In February he shared an AI-generated video depicting him and his wife Michelle Obama as apes, which triggered widespread backlash.
The clip showed the former president and former First Lady with their faces superimposed onto the bodies of the animals, while The Tokens’ song The Lion Sleeps Tonight played in the background.
It sparked widespread outrage, and California governor Gavin Newsom wrote on X at the time: “Every single Republican must denounce this. Now.”
The POTUS told reporters that he ‘didn’t see’ the part of the video that showed the Obamas and added that he ‘didn’t make a mistake,’ as per the BBC.

Trump’s latest Truth Social outburst came hours before the US President flew to China and arrived in Beijing on 13 May for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the Iran war, trade, and US arms sales to Taiwan.
And he received quite the welcome, with a military honour guard, a military band, and some 300 Chinese youngsters waving Chinese and American flags and chanting, “Welcome, welcome! Warm welcome!” as Trump made his way to his waiting limousine.
The main summit meetings are taking place on 14 May with leaders visiting the Temple of Heaven, where Chinese emperors once prayed for bumper crops, and holding bilateral talks and a formal banquet.
The US President told reporters as he left the White House: “We’re the two superpowers. We’re the strongest nation on Earth in terms of military. China’s considered second.”
